Skinny Jean
After years of living in our flared and boot-cut styled denim the skinny jean has made a come back. This punk rock style worn with big hair, jelly bracelets, and neon in the ‘80s is now more refined and versatile. The skinny jean can be daunting to many, but you don’t have to be super-thin to pull off the look. A tunic can disguise the hips and accentuate narrow calves while a stiletto or wedge heel can add visual height. The “skinny stack”, or the bunching of the jean at the ankles, can also assist in balancing out the figure when worn with flats. A praise of skinny jeans is that they are so much easier to tuck into your boots than boot-cut jeans, leaving no folds of fabric above the boot. Skinny jeans can now be found in a variety of rises, from natural waist to extra low, and different ankle widths, ranging from 5” to 8”. Levi's®, the brand that has outfitted Amercia in jeans since the 1800's, has created a skinny jean that is a happy medium between extremes in rise and ankle width. With a low rise and a 6” ankle, this style will flatter most body types. Another great point, this pair won’t leave your wallet feeling stained, so you are free to splurge on the other vogue trends this season!
